Air Terjun Gunung Stong
One of the tallest waterfalls in Southeast Asia, a short drive from the resort, and the reason most people come to Dabong.
The path climbs through secondary forest to the base of the falls, where the spray reaches you before the view does. A guide comes with you: the route is obvious in dry weather and much less so after rain, and the river crossings change with the level. Bring water and shoes you do not mind soaking.

Sungai Stong by boat
The valley from the water, which is a different place entirely.
A shallow-draft boat upstream as far as the level allows, then drifting back down. Kingfishers, monitor lizards and, if the morning is quiet, hornbills across the canopy. Cancelled when the river is high, which we will tell you the night before rather than at the jetty.

Kelantanese food in Dabong
The market and the stalls in town, a few minutes from the resort.
Dabong is a working town, and the market is where to find nasi kerabu, a gulai, something grilled over charcoal and a kuih. Ask us where is good that week.

The Jungle Railway
The line from Dabong runs through country no road reaches.
Dabong is a stop on the East Coast Line, and the stretch through the interior is the point rather than the destination. We will check the timetable, which moves. Most people ride an hour or two and come back on the next service.
